So a funny thing happened today.

Basically, one of the more notable young DC Photographers, Hatnim Lee, mentioned me in a fairly short list of favorite photoblogs. So naturally, I feel like a jerk because I've totally neglected this blog for the last several months as I pursue my other interests. Anyhow, it was a nice reminder that people still really like my work (which is about the most you can ask). It's easy to slink into the 9-5 lifestyle where you're focused on your job during the day, and then focused on doing absolutely nothing during the night. The point of this was to 1. Let you know that I have not totally forgotten about this blog, and 2. Let you know more updates will follow very soon. I'll have something up no later than this weekend. Also, expect frequent grammatical errors.

Recently I finished reading "Get in the Van" by Henry Rollins, and it's pretty much convinced me that my life goal is to be a touring musician/artist/creator of sensory-driven material. It's funny though, because throughout the whole book he comes across as an anti-social and sleep deprived maniac, who despises many of the aspects of touring, and after I finished I concluded that there's not much else I'd rather do more. He often described physically punishing both himself as well as those who he felt violated his code of respect. One thing he described fairly often was the affect of touring, where everything would be stripped down from you, mentally and physically. Lately I've been feeling like a pudgy teddy bear that's grown overly-complacent in the dank closet space I've been resting in. "My War" has been playing on repeat lately. I need to write some something aggressive.

So that's where I'm at right now.

Here's one of my favorite portraits to satiate any visual needs.

That's my friend Nacim, near a trash processing plant in Lorton, VA. We both grew up around the area. When I was young, someone made the comment that the plant looked like something that would be in the Terminator movie series. I'd imagine Arnold's sinking thumbs up, being consumed by orange glowing goo, and a few miles away I was playing Nintendo 64.
